Lebanese International University – 1 MWp Solar EPC
Location: Khiara, West Bekaa, Lebanon Client Sector: Education / University
NovaEnergia delivered a complete EPC solution for the Lebanese International University (LIU) campus in Khiara, installing a 1 MWp solar system that powers a large share of the university’s energy needs while setting a precedent for clean energy adoption in the Bekaa region.
📍 The Challenge
LIU faced frequent grid instability and rising energy costs, especially during peak daytime academic operations. Their goal was to lower reliance on diesel generators, stabilize their energy supply, and transition into a future-proof campus infrastructure.
⚡ The Solution
NovaEnergia was responsible for the full EPC process — from tailored system design and engineering to procurement and on-site execution.
The 1 MWp system was installed across multiple building rooftops and integrated with:
Advanced inverter management systems
Backup synchronization for emergency loads
Real-time monitoring tools accessible by the university
🌍 The Impact
The project delivers over $160,000 in annual savings and offsets more than 800 tons of CO₂ emissions per year. It has become a reference point for solar EPC excellence in Lebanon’s educational sector.
🏆 Why It Matters
The LIU project demonstrates that academic institutions outside major cities can lead the charge in renewable energy adoption — with real, measurable results.
